Rivera pulls off a genuine laugh

Gag me with a spoon! Okay, I get the joke; it’s actually a funny contrast and it doesn’t involve a lame pun. I’m impressed that Rivera carried it off. I might even go so far as to think that panel 1 is also a dig on pre-Rivera departure scenes where Mark and Cherry are always so lovey-dovey. It’s an attractive and plausible scenario, but that may be reading too much into it. Do you agree or not?

  1. The white zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the red zone.

Was Cherry parked there the entire time between dropping off Mark and picking up her sisters? Isn’t she special!

I’ve never been one much for PDA, like in panel #1, but I guess it’s possible. It is inconsiderate to others who may be waiting. GET OUT OF THE LINE!

I have had dialog with my two brothers at the airport similar to panel #2 (thankfully they did not visit at the same time). It’s just natured sibling ribbing.

    • Good points. Also, the departures and arrivals seem to be at the same location, pointing to a pretty small airport. Clearly, a regional airport. The pickup car lines at my airport get 3 rows deep!

Say, do you like John Pinette’s comedy? I do!

      • You got the reference. I do like John Pinnette. He was hilarious.

Some airports can be pretty small. The airport in Cranbrook BC was the size of a post office.

  2. I had a good friend that I would greet by saying “Haven’t you been arrested yet?” It caused some raised eyebrows in professional settings.
