So in a reversal of convention, the Sunday animal-of-the-week (the giant hairy scorpion) preceded its appearance in the daily strip. Other than finding out that Rusty is fairly easy to impress, there isn’t much to see, so far. Unlike Rusty’s fairly harmless scorpion, there are several venomous rattlesnake (viper) species in the Las Vegas area, along with gila monsters. Will one of those predators show up? At least Rusty seems to have been wise enough to wear long pants and ankle boots.

Maybe he’ll run across the remains of somebody who tried to cheat a local casino. Well, that might be a bit much for this strip. Maybe instead he’ll run into some stereotypical crazy goldhunter in dungarees, with a mule and panning tray. Or the adventure will peter out as it was just beginning, as Cherry calls Rusty back to the hotel, the spoil sport!
