Mark: Oh, sure. Can’t deny that! And it’s not just a loyalty test goin on, here. In fact, this is clearly Rivera’s “shake down” cruise, or more likely a “shake OUT” cruise, as she seems bent on shaking off the old leaves that no longer care to hang onto the Tree of Mark, so to speak. Sorry for the bad metaphor! (With all the comic strips around, I wonder why there isn’t another “nature-oriented” strip.)
The ongoing strips that Dennis has yet to repost only reinforce the common feeling of a complete abandonment of the Classic Trail, I believe. It’s as if Jules is saying “Either hang on for the ride (literally and figuratively) or jump off and go have coffee with Mary Worth.
