If they are close to the Chiricahua Mts, then they should also be close to the Arizona towns of Bisbee (former copper mining town and modern artsy/folksy enclave) and Tombstone, AZ. Maybe they’ll run across some throwback sheriff on horseback, or a cowboy herding some longhorns to his “ranch”.
