Not that Rusty is specifically looking, but if he can’t find any cryptids, then he can have his special time with Rocky Raccoon. Funny, it appears Rusty must be getting less and less mature, especially as he wants to name his special raccoon friend, share lunch, and maybe get a group Selfie.
Well, it looks to me like Jules Rivera has once again watered down what could have been a bit of suspense with this “A Boy and his Raccoon” diversion. Not that I want to be a Donny Downer, but there is only one more day for this chapter to play out, and it looks like it will focus on the phone call. Very possibly, Cherry is at the scout meeting site, wondering where Rusty got to. Goodness! What will Rusty do now!?
I know; you are waiting for me to criticize Cherry’s photo in panel 4. Well, Rusty is still (forever) 11 years old. So, funny Mom photos are still okay. We might have something more to say on the topic if this is the same photo that Mark has on his phone!
I liked your comment about changing to the Cub Scout uniform you made earlier. It ties in with Rusty’s behavior here. Cub Scouts is for ages 5-10 years, while Scouts BSA is for 10-18 years. While I had assumed Rusty was a pre-teen, adolescent, his behavior here is Cub Scout juvenile.
