Glamor Gorilla!? Okay, this is obviously a parody of hooking up websites. But just searching Glamor Gorilla is hardly a thorough search of the web. Still, what is it Mark has seen that gives him pause? He didn’t say it was someone but something. Maybe he found Happy’s profile on the web site!!
Anyway, check out Mark’s head in panel 4. It is either an extremely bad case of sloppy drawing or Jules Rivera has attempted to show a head doing a fast double-take. I figure it is the latter, though I’ve never seen Rivera attempt this before. Have you?

Mark has a spiral next to his head.
The weird spot today is Niecy’s nose. Hippo, mustache, lasso.
Glamor Gorilla must have some connection to the gorilla sanctuary, but I don’t see it mentioned yet in this story.
Trying to return a phone call but the office I’m calling shuts down for lunch.

Yeah, but those spirals signify nothing. A spiral turns around on itself. It doesn’t fit the context. This is just visual noise.
This just means Rivera doesn’t always grasp the significance of comic strip indicia. I’d suggest she get a copy of Mort Walker’s Lexicon of Comicana.
As for the nose spot, it does look like some kind of line or lash, though I’m not sure if that was the intended interpretation. I think we’ve seen more like that. For example:
May 19, panel 1 (Cherry)
May 15, esp panels 2 and 4 (Rusty)
March 19 panels 2 and 3 (Joe Jitters)
Rivera is definitely doing some odd things with noses.

I should have been more explicit. When you blow up the picture, The Nose:
Panel 1 : The bottom is a dancing hippo animal cracker
Panel 2 : The black line across the tip is a bandito mustache
Panel 3: Like a rope trick where the performer is going to dance in the loop.
Jules was having fun.
