Biodiesel fuel!? Really?! Well, if you are careful about it, the research says it is viable, as well as street legal and federally approved. But it won’t work in gas-powered vehicles, of couse. I found a rundown on the topic from several years ago on the Car Talk web site (There’s probably better information today, but I tend to be lazy on subjects I’m not that interested in!). With the price of diesel today (and biodiesel is even more expensive!), Mark and Cherry better be pulling in big bucks to keep that station wagon running.
Meanwhile, Mark’s moment of righteous indignation and frustration gets interrupted when, for the second time, he is asked help carry the ill gorillas into the ambulance. But damn! Who knew old Happy Trail was strong enough to lift a gorilla on his own (panel 3)? I’m impressed. I’m thinking that maybe Happy Trail should not have retired.
Alas, Mark and Niecy can only watch in frustration as Gail and Guyer drive away, knowing there is no way to catch them. That reminds me: Why would Jules Rivera apparently “forget” that she just wrote a police officer into the story a few days ago? Why isn’t he pursuing Gail and Guyer, rather than presumably still gazing at the sunset? Perhaps this is all a red herring or practical joke. After all, there is another week to go with this story, so it’s possible that the absent police officer will suddenly show up in Monday’s episode, speeding after the fleeing “wedding vehicle.”

On the other hand, Gail and Guyler are “getting away”… to where? Their identities are known. After the police have a look at their “gorilla sanctuary,” there will likely be sufficient evidence for felony indictments. (At least in the real world; of course, this is the Jules-verse), they will be found and prosecuted. Taking care of the sick gorillas in the immediate moment is the more pressing need.
In the real world, there is a sadly similar story playing out right now. I live outside Chicago, and our Shedd Aquarium just received a pair of Beluga whales from the defunct Marineland park in Canada. Other whales from that park (I think over twenty in all) are being placed in other aquariums around North America, the alternative (from Marineland’s owners) being to “euthanize” them. Complicating things further is a group that has raised money (but nowhere near enough) to construct some kind of off-shore preserve for the whales (in the sea, but I assume fenced off), and of course they are denouncing sending them to other aquariums.
Of course nobody is considering simply releasing the whales into the wild and hoping they will re-integrate into the social order.

I understand your concern about the whales. It really is a sad situation. I also can’t imagine a location that has/had 20 wales in an exhibition space!
But I imagine that, if these whales have grown up in captivity, releasing them into the wild would be worse than euthanasia because they would lack the normal survival skills learned growing up in the wild. That would hold for any zoo animal.

I think I’ve mentioned in the past that your comments are always held for approval, even thought there is nothing otherwise problematic about them.
Unfortunately, WordPress Support has no other answer for this issue. They posit that there could be minor differences in the profile name between one entry and the next, if you are manually entering the name. I don’t see any variations, myself.
