In these times of confusion and ambiguity, where can we turn for TRUE NORTH? I submit that MARK TRAIL embodies only the best and purest of virtues, uncompromised and uncomplicated by the world around us. In times of strife and trouble, when facing even the most needlesome of crossroads, we only need ask WWMD, What Would Mark Do?
For readers of the Comics Curmudgeon, I tip my hat to you, Josh, whose comments I have enjoyed for years now… and consider my inspiration to this “Trail only” Treatment. – Dennis Williams, site founder.

I inherited this blog site from Dennis Williams when he saw no further reason to continue. Dennis had been publishing his Mark Trail blog since January 2013 and only stopped in early April 2021. That’s a lot of commentary! It’s no secret that the hiring of Jules Rivera and her changes to the strip’s appearance and direction (which began in October 2020) had more than a little something to do with Dennis’s decision. But I thought this blog was (and is) a pretty good resource and worthy of continuing. I do my best.
In addition to the Comics Curmudgeon, I find inspiration in Dennis’s posts. Clearly, I failed to heed his recommendation to me for keeping things brief. Anyway, I’m also appreciative of the great information in Mark Carlson-Ghost’s site, Mark Trail Confidential. If you want to learn more about Mark Trail’s back story, it’s the best online source available.
Where is Andy? He’s the world’s oldest dog, surprising since the larger the dog the shorter the life. And, Mark, unless you are actually swimming, keep your shirt on.
