Thanks George, for linking this together and the reference to Popeye characters. While I am an inch wide and a mile deep on the Trails, your knowledge extends across multiple canon…

Apparently Olive and Peach don’t talk much! Or look at the same Social Media sites. Or accesses Social Media at all… Considering how focused Mark and Cherry are on growing their Social Media Brand, one would think that they aren’t terribly difficult to find… “Cave Man??” Will the bring-downs ever end? Of course it’s not challenging to surmise that the younger Pitt Sisters have a dim view of the Male of the Species.

I love it! Rusty utters the classic “What Th–?” But it’s really unclear what he is grabbing at, which of course creates its own tension. Meanwhile, over stage left, the reunion is going swimmingly!!
We were promised that Cherry and Rusty would be more than mere bookends. Looks like that promise is being kept.
Right on, Dennis! I was also taken with Rusty’s comment: Was he focused on the Cave Man quip or the insult from Olive. Or both?
BTW, I checked the b/w newspaper version of the strip (which is much harsher looking, owing to the absence of the coloring, which provides the needed balance) and it appears that Rusty is grabbing the right door handle of their vehicle.
Still, aren’t we all just dying with curiosity about what Cherry has to bring up with her sisters concerning their Dad? (Could it have anything to do with “Mom”?) And also, why do this now? Just because Mark has to confront his past, does Cherry feel the same need to clear her air? And how could Rusty be negatively affected by whatever the revelation is? So many questions.
Here is a fun THOUGHT EXPERIMENT: Jules suddenly gets ill or quits and James Allen is brought back on temporarily to carry on the current story line. What happens next? And what does the strip look like?
